Door access

Door access
control.

We install UniFi Access door control for offices, clinics, shops, and warehouses across St. Thomas, Elgin County, and London. Staff enter with a card, fob, PIN, or mobile credential, doors follow a schedule, and every entry is logged.

Overview

Control of who enters, and when.

Physical keys are copied, lost, and lent, and rekeying a building is costly and slow. With access control, a departing employee's credential is revoked immediately, the front entrance unlocks on schedule, and restricted areas are limited to authorized staff.

  • Entry by card, fob, PIN, or mobile credential
  • Unlock schedules for business hours and holidays
  • Credentials revoked immediately, from any location
  • A complete entry log, with a camera clip where UniFi Protect is installed
  • Video intercom for visitor and delivery entrances
  • Remote unlock for staff or contractors when required

Platform

Why we install UniFi Access

Conventional access control systems involve per-door software licences, proprietary panels, and dependence on the vendor for routine changes. UniFi Access runs on the same platform as your network and cameras, with no ongoing software fees.

You manage users and schedules yourself through the application. We handle installation, door hardware, and any changes you would prefer not to make yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Door access

Will it work with our existing doors?
In almost all cases. Most commercial doors accept an electric strike or magnetic lock. We assess frames, door types, and fire code requirements during the site visit and include any required hardware in the quote.
What happens during a power or internet outage?
Doors are configured to fail in the manner required by code, and battery backup can be added so that access continues through a short outage. An internet connection is required only for remote management, not for credentials to function.
Can staff use their phones instead of a fob?
Yes. Mobile credentials allow staff to present their phone at the reader. Fobs and cards remain available for anyone who prefers them.
Is there a monthly fee?
There is no software licensing fee for UniFi Access. Optional support agreements are quoted separately.
